- The "South Beach Diet", is a great diet for PCOS and insulin resistance. You should be able to find the book, describing the diet, at your school library, and your local library. There also, is the "South Beach Diet Cook Book". It is full of recipes, compliant with the "South Beach Diet". You could probably by the two of them, on-line, for about $25.00.
- You don't need to join a low carb. diet.............You have access to a computer, there must be millions of low carb recipes on the web.
- Atkins, phase 2; South Beach Living, phase 2; Dr Sears; and go to http://www.diabetes.about.com for some practical suggestions on how to do this. The site guide is an RN and has lots of really good info in short articles and a free forum for asking questions.
- Get Atkins New Diet Revolution you can get it for about 10 cents plus postage in used books on Amazon.com, and there's always the public library. Meanwhile go to lowcarber.org a lot of people there are doing variations of Atkins and they also have a page that compares low carb diets. I suggest Atkins because this is a good starting point to just learn how it is done and to understand the science behind low carbing. Good luck!
