- Anytime you reduce or eliminate one thing from your diet like carbs then something else takes up the slack, in most low carb diets that is protein. Eating too much protein can damage your kidneys and cause dehydration. The best way to lose weight is to follow a healthy diet. You can receive the USDA's recommendations for your specific age, height, gender, etc at www.mypyramid.gov Diets do not work, because they are not designed to hang with for the long haul. The best thing you can do for your body and weight is to learn how to eat healthy for life.
- have a word with your GP forst but its fish&chips for me
- No - a balanced diet and exercise programme would be better.
- I tried a diet like this and lost a stone very quickly. Then i got fed up with no bread, pasta or rice- and put back on two stone in no time at all! I'm now eating a more balanced healthy diet with plenty of fruit and veg, i've lost a stone gradually over a couple of months and i feel much better for it. It really is the only way long-term. I don't really go without any of my favourite treats, just have them in moderation. The difference is that now i feel in control, and believe me that makes so much difference.
- Great post! I totally understand how you feel. I'm also trying to lose weight and I found this great product which is working for me (it's all 100% natural - a colon cleanse that was really gentle on my body. I feel so good and I lost 15 pounds). You can check the website at http://www.be-happy-diet.us , I had a free trial and paid less than $5.00 shipping and handling. Best of luck!
- Yes I think low carb can be perfectly safe and healthy. Really what the roots of low carb is about, is not eating processed food, how can that be unhealthy? It's funny when people say "balanced" generally, they are really talking about eating a diet with overly processed foods whilst trying to limit fats as much as they can. Last I checked fat not processed grains was an entire food group... There is plenty of research below that shows the benefits of low carbohydrate diets:
