Vegetarian Daily Diet

How can I stick with my low-carb diet?

I'm going to start doing a low-carb diet. I have a thyroid condition and Low-Carb has been the only thing that has helped me to lose weight. I've tried low fat and all of that and it doesn't work for me. I don't really have very much weight to lose (about 25lbs, but due to my condition, I gain very easily) However, I love carbs and find that even though I see results, it's very hard for me to stick to. Any ideas?

  1. One Word - SUPPORT talk to your friends and loved ones and let them help you.
  2. Be serious with yourself and do it with out to much thought.
  3. lots of chicken or protein veggie sides to fill you up fruits perfect- natural sugars low-fat yogurt is a must and can help you lose more weight milk- same as above lots of water- fills you up you can eat low carb whole wheat bread in the morning- it gives you that boost and in turn can help you burn more calories oatmeal as well- they have low carb try lean cuisines or south beach diet frozen foods too- low carb and delicious
  4. I'm on the Atkins and love to order pizza and eat the toppings only. I also like to get a Wendy's triple or In & Out quadruple stack (with cheese) and eat everything but the bun. I may have hardening of the arteries, but I'm loosing weight!!
  5. Start by limiting yourself to a certain number of grams of carbs a day, say thirty. As your weight drops, gradually increase the number you eat a day until your weight loss stops. That's the number to eat a day. I love bread, but it's high-carb city! When you absolutely have to have a grain product, make sure it's 100% whole grain. You get substantially less carbs than the more conventional product. Choose tart fruits, if you need to eat them, such as plums and berries. You get the sweet taste with fewer carbs than fruits like apples and bananas and oranges. And don't skip meals! If you get really hungry, you'll be more tempted to binge on the first high-carb food that crosses your path.
  6. Plan your menus by the week using Atkins or South Beach. and while you are planning, plan in a treat "cheat" every few days. I plan mine in for Sundays. Don't give up on the low carbing, and don't think of the one little treat, like a dip of real ice cream, as blowing the diet!! It is all in the planning. If you want an ice cream every day, give up some other higher carb equivalent. I never buy "low carb" labeled foods. Same with "low fat" foods or "sugar free" foods. they all have something else in them that is worse for us. Like too much salt to try to make them taste better. Have a tiny candy bar!! Make it the dark chocolate. But never never deprive yourself if you reallly must have a bite of something. Plan in the "cheats" and you won't have to feel guilty for breaking your diet plan.
  7. I don' know ur condition but I know what u mean. I think the best way to stick to it is to drink alot of water, keep your self busy, and eat more low carb stuff. If you get a craving for a soda just try a coke zero. They taste exactly the same as coke.
