Vegetarian Daily Diet

Do they smell better on a vegetarian diet?

This is a serious question and I really want some serious answers. In your absolute honest opinion, do you think they smell better on a vegetarian diet? I feel that mine do and even though there are days that I let more, especially after eating certain things like cabbage or broccoli. Okay, I would like to ask this then. If a food makes us let smelly ones, is that our bodies way of telling us not to eat those foods? Michael H, there is nothing to be embarassed about when it comes to digestion. I do believe the smell can tell us a lot about our current health condition. I was actually receiving some very well thought out answers to my question. Maybe you can try and be a little more positive, seriously. Thanks to everyone who made a positive contribution to this discussion. As far as you hatemongers go, I feel sorry for you people.

  1. I wouldn't know-never had meat.Theoretically, cabbage farts(had to say this due to lack of apt words) should smell bad as cabbage contains sulphur.
  2. What is "they"?
  3. DO YOU MEAN FARTS ??? if so then mine are worse when i.ve eaten veg
  4. I've met several Asians who smell bad who eat mostly vegetarian. The thing is what sauce or spice they use to cook with. Kimchi, thats horrible! Then again many red meat eaters have a 'greasy' smell. But you are so right saying YOU SMELL like what YOU EAT.
  5. What are you talking about? They? Who they?
  6. Nah not really. "They" all smell bad. The only diff is that certain foods that we all eat are more smelly than others, whether it be veg or non-veg. Like cabbage "they" may be stronger than chicken"they" and or Like Sausage "they " may be stronger than tomatoes "they"
  7. What.... you hear them too? the voices? what did they say? your voices are cabbage or broccoli.... mine are carrots and celery but I haven't noticed a smell.
  8. http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=004eoY There is a good answer to your question here.
  9. I wouldn't say they smell as bad, no. They have a different smell - its still strong - just not as "GAHHH GET THE GAS MASKS OUT" but it isn't something you want to go around smelling all day if you know what i mean. But definetly not as bad. I have noticed that they are more frequent, because i am eating more fibre. Farting around 7 times a day is considered healthy i believe.
  10. So, posting about this in the FOOD and DRINK/vegetarian and vegan section so people can ridcule us collectively.... which part of "turning the page" is this ?
  11. What is this obsession about gas?? This must be the 3rd or 4th question about it and these questions do not belong here. Last week you asked if it was normal for your boyfriend to enjoy your flatulence. These are not Food and Drink questions...ask this under Health.
  12. Not you again... We've already told you, your flatulence smell of poo. It stinks, same as everyone elses, same as cow poo, sheep poo whatever herbivore/vegetarian poo. All smells of poo. Edited to replace the word *dung with *poo. A little less gross...
  13. Now I KNOW you're a troll
  14. I work in health care and I never heard of flatulence being monitored for odor. There is an ICD-9-CM code for flatulence (787.3) but this is only used when the patient has excessive gas that causes discomfort. There are no sub classifications for broccoli, pinto beans, cabbage, really rank ones, silent but deadly, etc. Try Beano. Since we're on the topic; I will leave with a joke: A guy goes to the doctor and says "Doc, I have really bad gas and it makes a sound like HONDA! What's wrong with me?" The doctor says "You probably have an abscess." The guy says "What do you mean?" The doctor says "Oh, you know, abscess makes the fart go HONDA!." Okay; one more, this is an actual child's poem in Hindi: Ada pada, kaun pada, mamu jee kay goree pada English "One way or the other, who farted? My uncle's horse farted." PS: You appear to be the real Ashley.
  15. Yes for sure , I'm a veggie and its only if I eat onions a lot I smell. I certainly produce more gas. Because veg pass quickly through the body they don't produce the same gases. eat is in your body for up to 3 weeks so it's no wonder eat eaters stink.
  16. What smell better? You arm pits, feet? What?
  17. so you know your smells eh! Did you know natural gas is without a smell as is pure CO2 both killers yet we can not smell them so what makes you know if smelling nice is good for you or that smelling bad is bad for you. As you preach so much pooh and are an expert in the subject. How do you think your words smell like to others?. addition... multiplicity well what can you say to this ?
  18. Gross. http://www.correntewire.com/bush_loves_fart_jokes_says_u_s_news
  19. yesss, i know what your talking about. &it's true that people with healthier "diets"/way of eating have clearer skin, shinier hair, better sense of smell/ vision and even smell better..i find all of these things to be true for me. example; i sweat at the gym &yet i smell like pure water..//.. everyone else stinks and carries around their nasty dead animal b.o. all over the place, it's gross. so yea..eating better makes you smell better ^,^ xoxox
  20. You should know that there are young people on here. They have sensitive ears. Why do you care about flatulence anyway? Are going to try to take my b/f away? This is serious! I am going to report you!!!!
  21. How can you FEEL that your gas SMELLS better? Sick child.
  22. Makes what smell bad? and Ashly, why are you obsessed with poop and farts??
  23. I eat nothing but beef and mine smell like roses
  24. Are you real Ash???? Seriuosly is this your serious question??? You think that your body tells you to stop eating something that makes your "they" smelly??? Then......, you can't eat anything at all, as even the veg diet will make your "they" smell. Make all your preaches on healthy veg diet ridiculous aren't they ??? Just be happy with your body PS: Please think & rethink & rethink & rethink again before you post an issue
  25. I avoid cabbage which fills me with gas which is sorta anti-social. Don't have the same problem with anything else. Have never had complaints even about garlic which I always eat cooked
  26. Before I read this I was happy to be called an old fart, now I'm having second thoughts..................
  27. I'm sure you've had more than your share of time wasters on this one. But I will try and make a positive contribution to the question. Consider this. Food can be in transit in your system for as much as a few days. It is warm and moist in there. What would happen if you left a plate of meat in a very hot (98 degrees) and moist room (sauna) for that length of time? Well, meat will putrify in your gut. The conditions are perfect for it. You have experienced the results!
